Re: The Artbooks - Updated!
Thanks for updating this. The older official artbook is utterly fascinating to me with Kubooka's sketchings, especially of the Silver Star cast. I like seeing this sort of conceptual artwork and wish there was more that existed for LUNAR.

Re: Send in the clowns...
I believed I knew what Ghaleon was speaking of when he uttered the phrase, but out of most all the pop culture references the LUNAR series makes this one is quite possibly not only the one that will be lost to time but also quite possibly immediately mis-interpreted even at the time of it's inceptio...

Re: First impressions of Eternal Blue
I - possibly foolishly - also owned a Genesis/Sega CD (Model 2)/32X combo. I was the only person that I can recall knowing that actually had the setup. Knew people that had variations of at least two, but not all three. I only owned three games on the 32X - Doom, Star Wars Arcade, and Virtua Racing ...

Re: Forbidden Forest?
You're not supposed to "fight" the monsters in the Forbidden Forest, per say. When Alex becomes Dragonmaster (more specifically when you obtain the Dragon Armor item) you receive the "Dragon Grief" spell. This spell immediately kills all enemies on-screen. You're supposed to use ...

Re: Are Lunar 1 and 2 (PS1) actually difficult RPGs?
I feel that both LUNARs on the PS1 were (relatively) easy for me because I owned and had beaten both of the original games on the Sega CD; I for the most part knew what to expect story-wise and only had to accommodate for the PS1-specific changes. If anything though, even without the Sega CD experie...

Re: Going through EBC now; my thoughts on it so far
I know you're playing EBC complete, and I don't know if you've played the original Silver Star or original Eternal Blue on the Sega CD, but one of my more enjoyable character development sets was with how the heroine (Lucia) in EB was handled much better - at least in my opinion - than TSS' heroine ...

Re: Orginal names?
I remember the issues with seeing Phaidy as the name for Quark which caused a stir. I thought it was a bit weird, but I've kind of always had the Shakespearian mindset of "What's in a name?" It was nice to see some more last names start to pop up other than Ausa and Al Kirk. More surprisin...

Re: Small thing I noticed with the pre-release Lunar TSS sho
With an early AV production game for a console like LUNAR, such a thing as having items that were lifted directly from conceptual art and used in-game is not strange. The ultimate thing this did was save production costs. One of the most glaring examples is in two of the promotional images created f...

Re: More of a general question
:( .... I don't. I thought I did and I checked all my image hosting but couldn't find it. It was weird. I guess it was last year in the fall I pulled out the Sega CD and started up Eternal Blue. When the game loaded to the load screen it had an odd save above Epilogue also reading Epilogue, but the ...

Re: More of a general question
The internal memory on the Sega CD model 2 console carries roughly 122 blocks of memory. Lunar Eternal Blue takes up 14 of those and the Silver Star takes up 40 (!). You can run out of memory quick with most games. Sega thankfully made an official backup RAM cartridge for the console. It carries rou...

Re: Lunar Guidebook Scans
Yeah I walked into my local Electronics Boutique and threw down $20 for it brand new. Now that I think about it I do remember now that I didn't get it the day I got EBC on release day but rather picked up the book on a subsequent visit.

15 years ago, next month, at the end of May...
... is the 15th Anniversary of LUNAR the Silver Star Story Complete's North American release on the PS1. Japan got it a year before on the PS1 and before that they got it two years prior on the Sega Saturn. I still remember when I walked into my local Electronics Boutique and bought it after having ...

$80?! That's more than either the SCCC or EBC games themselves were new when they came out.

Re: Lunar Guidebook Scans
That... couldn't have been cheap. I've seen how much the LUNAR Eternal Blue Complete guides go for now and I'm amazed. I'm glad I bought mine the day it came out; was right around $20 if I remember right. The good thing is though the Eternal Blue guide is much tougher than the Silver Star Story Comp...

Re: Human Nall?
I pulled up the screen shots here on Lunar-net. I didn't realize how similar the dialogue was between the Sega CD EB and the remake EB - WD almost pasted it word for word... It likely has been a very long time since Ghaleon last "saw" Nall; presumably one could consider the final scene bef...

Re: Human Nall?
It's been quite some years since I've played both Sega CD and PS1 Eternal Blue. However if my memory serves me correctly I'm 99% sure that the reason why Nall chooses a human form is to elude discovery by Ghaleon and Zophar - I actually believe for sure in the Nall flashback in the Eternal Blue rema...

I first got Magic Knight Rayearth because of my sister. She was visiting and we took a trip to the mall. She thought it looked awesome and bought it. She let me look through it, and I thought it was awesome! So the next time I went to the bookstore, I got it as well! I have the really old red cover...

Re: Lunar 2: something got lost from Lunar 1?
Yeah I pretty much completely forgot about the Phantasy Star. I really need to play through them again. The 'Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection' on the PS3 has all four games and I got it some years ago but haven't set the time aside to play through them all.

Re: Lunar 2: something got lost from Lunar 1?
I was more going off of what you mentioned here in terms of gaming sequels (although **technically** Lufia 2 is a prequel, but game-wise it is a sequel). I was making a general observation of how probably LUNAR Silver Star and LUNAR Eternal Blue was not as effective as a set of games as maybe anothe...

Re: Lunar 2: something got lost from Lunar 1?
I don't think it was more of what the fans wanted between the two games, but more again that the remakes did more to bridge the stories together. Even looking at games like LUNAR Legend where Nash is in Burg proclaiming he is there to become Dragon Master at the beginning more not only work to corre...
